Title: Yoko Ono Attended the Dumpling Party

Address: 80 Wooster Street

Artist: Yoko Ono

Description: Yoko Ono and John Lennon were present at George Maciunas' Dumpling Party in 1971. Ono and Lennon sat on the white tile floor of 80 Wooster Street, along with Andy Warhol. (Note, Maciunas promised all Fluxus residents he would provide new bathrooms upon the conversion from an industrial space to a work-residience. In order to keep his expenses down he purchased inexpensive small white tiles. All Fluxus buildings that Maciunas renovated use the same lot of small inexpensive white tile (Bernstein & Shapiro, October 15th, 2011). Maciunas, unlike Warhol had little interest in celebrities, despite his affection for Ono and Lennon. Most of the guests at Fluxus events were unknown artists and unknown names (Taubin).
