Title: Last 'Cowboy' Rides Over Tenth Ave. Route; Tracks Now Elevated, Horses Get New Job
Notes: This article from The New York Times describes the last ride by a West Side Cowboy on March 29th 1941. Twenty-one year old George Hayde, mounted on his bay horse Cylcone, conducted fourteen freight cars loaded with oranges along 10th Avenue. According to the report Hayde had never left the city limits challenging the image of the cowboy as a pioneer of the Western frontier.
